6 By Tanga#12116 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) Say you have 10,000 HP and are hit for 1,000 HP each turn. You would normally die after the tenth attack, but now you will take normal damage for six attacks (which brings you below 50 percent HP) and half damage thereafter. That means you will be hit seven more times for 500 HP, and the next attack will kill you. You will have survived for fourteen attacks instead of ten. The situation changes with strong attacks, though. Say you're hit for anywhere between 40-49 percent of your HP. In this case you will be killed by the third attack, whether you have Kotodama's protection or not. Similarly, if you are hit for exactly 50 percent you will be killed in two turns, because the protection only kicks in once you fall below 50 percent. If you're hit for between 51-66 percent though, you will survive for three turns instead of two, because the second attack will be half shielded. Over that level of damage the shield is useless; if you are hit for 67 percent you get killed in two turns regardless. So this is a weird situational power. It will be useful only for a small range of attacks and player HP values. If your HP goes up, you may find that Kotodama's power becomes useless against strong (40-50 percent HP) attacks. I suppose it might be useful in some dungeons without hearts and against some monsters whose behavior changes depending on your HP, but it's definitely a very specialised sort of dragon Last edited by Tanga 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) 6 By TradyJones#43246 7 years ago ( 7.1.1 ) As far as trophy chars go, this guy is awesome! As for his usefulness? Well. ..he looks awesome! 5 By NallTWD#21043 7 years ago ( 6.4.5 ) So insanely situational for a staggeringly high cost of material. Yeah, good luck with this one. 0 -Striku-#37071 7 years ago ( 6.4.5 ) Best time to use him in a worst case scenario is when Valkyrie uses resurrect and you need to recharge your skills 4 By Banjomarx#24413 6 years ago ( 7.2.3 ) IVE GOT IT! super troll ODIN AND KOTODAMA TEAM!!! WOOT! so they cant even kill u via multihit! and then fill your team with fully awoken awoken odins, so you heal 10k each turn and never die! in most dungeons. of course you will do like 0 dmg and probably die of boredom, BUT IT COULD WORK! 3 By Sennyu@pf#372 7 years ago ( 6.4.5 ) seriously... why.... That leader skill will require a stone before you even know what happened..... 2 By Davvinchi#29456 7 years ago ( 6.5.5 ) I think he would be useful the same way stone dragons are on occasion, but more if you are in that spot where you need to heal back up but your rcv sucks, :p But actually there are a few places where you have an Odin Ama build and this guy might be useful against multihits. I wish they would make him 50% reduction under 99% or something useful like that. 1 By Dot#41522 7 years ago ( 6.5.5 ) I don't know about anyone else, but since I farmed mystic dragons, I'm going to get this solely in the hopes of an eventual LS change like Buster Siegfried got semi-recently (>80% to <99% HP conditional). You never know... 0 By Dr. Psaroo#42667 7 years ago ( 7.1.1 ) He is weak because he is saving his powers for the skellington war. There his leader skill is all skellington cards get a permanent 7X ATK and 3X HP and 1.5 RCV. 0 By Lucent#37616 7 years ago ( 6.4.5 ) It's true that this guys is a big trash (Especially when you compare him with 1458.) the only one things he has is a very beautiful artwork. 0 By yoxiyo#27166 7 years ago ( 6.4.5 ) that leader skill count down tho three turns? good for.....(nothing, really!) 0 By TASTEEFIRE#29273 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) im just gonna say ... its a panic button... and its probably not going to work as that with out a max skill... im not wracking my brain over it tho ... will post video if i find a use Last edited by TASTEEFIRE 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) 0 By XCWarior#37901 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) Why does it cost so many dragons for the ultimate evolution? Would love to know if anyone has ever done this outside of being a completionist. 0 By Wolfbane#51276 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) Wow I just got him and well.... Pretty disappointed with him. Looks awesome though. 0 By Tanga#12116 7 years ago ( 6.5.2 ) Unless I'm missing something, with this dragon your survival chances will change in unusual ways. If you're being hit many times with small attacks you will take normal damage until you fall below 50 percent, and half damage thereafter. In this case (assuming no healing) you will survive for up to 50 percent longer. (continued) 0 By otaku#27310 7 years ago ( 7.2.1 ) Maybe another situation is if you have a high attack multiplier that works only when HP is low. Swap this guy in, let the enemy grind your HP down, swap him back out, destroy on sight. 0 By Josh-PF/BB#7124 6 years ago ( 7.3.0 ) They should have just made it a flat damage reduction of like 35-40% regardless of health. Basically you pop him on to stall then pop him back and continue. 0 By Mr-ex777#91897 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Well...since he has machine now, and does not have any form of damage input increase, it can actually be used to switch out a high output leader to counter large damage shields. 0 By dragonlord#24008 4 years ago ( 9.6.3 ) if you ultimit to this does it use the other dragons for good 0 By Laotie#102076 3 years ago ( 12.0.3 ) What dun4geon can I get him from? Need him for an evolution. -1 By gauchito#28641 6 years ago ( 7.5.1 ) Hey hey, a three cool down skill! You could use it to activate an awoken egyptian god's ls every three turns! like that extra burst to x6 for awoken horus! But... oh. Yeah. You'd be switching your awoken horus with this sh!#$y a#$ leader skill. Nope, nevermind. He's worthless. Edit: that was entirely a joke, but rethinking it, there may be some potential. Yes, you would not have an awoken horus lead to activate if you used this active. BUT start with awoken horus lead, switch to this guy to stall, stall for three turns with this lead, set up your board, and then BAM! switch back, have a set-up board, and your 6x burst ready! THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY BE A USE FOR HIM WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! -1 By ArcticFox#14431 7 years ago ( 6.5.5 ) Hmm...it seems like he'd be good on my 5 Mechdragon God Fusion, Canopus team...he'd probably replace my Dark Shining Divinegon. But...as a leader, well...I'm one of those players who hates being lower than 50% HP. So...he seems like he'd be more of a situational leader, at best...(although now that I think about it: 50% damage reduction when you're below 50% HP might not be too bad, plus his skill is to switch with your leader...hmm...this guy definitely deserves more thought) Last edited by ArcticFox 7 years ago ( 6.5.5 ) 0 Tanga#12116 7 years ago ( 6.5.5 ) The only way he makes sense is for you to swap him in, I agree. Most times you would just use a 2xHP monster (or better, 2xHP, 2xRCV) but if you were going for an ATK multiplier instead I suppose you could swap him in to save your life when things get tough. His stats are mediocre, though, and he uses up a slot. That's a lot to pay for something that's only rarely useful. |
