1 By Slayton#95619 4 years ago ( 9.5.1 ) Been using Noctis for a few months and while he's a great end game leader, good luck if you fight machine zeus or anyone else with a big combo shield. Also dark absorb bosses are basically GG. But outside of that he's perfectly end game capable. Definitely want to inherit a +2 combo count active onto one of your subs if you're serious about using him though. At most you can expect 6 combos with a good board and player skill and to get over 7 combo shields you need that +2. Skyfalls are also kind of rare with no 3 orb clears so you'll rarely be getting lucky with those. 1 By Potato#23583 4 years ago ( 12.0.3 ) One of the few monsters in the game where a killer awakening can be combined with latent killer tamadras of the same type. In this case the Devil killer + 3x Devil killer awakenings + 2 TPAS = 22.7x multiplier to devils. For a point of reference, the mighty Haku has a 4.5 multiplier with no killer latents. 0 By Megan#90939 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) 2.25/81/2.25 is great, but that full attack multiplier is so hard to set up with not being able to match just 3. You'd have to get 6 combos of at least 4, which seems nearly impossible without some really precise board setup. Skyfall isn't reliable for combos of 4 either... 1 Oh! I just got him in JP, and the awokens are the same 9 that are given in NA !? PADX is just glitching again it seems... 0: 0 sungyulkim#28915 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) I rolled Noctis and played him, and making 6combo of 4+orbs is not that hard... I think you haven't rolled this guy so you are thinking it's impossible. But if you have him, you will see how easy to make combo and how powerful he is. 0 Gameboy_07#94598 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Noctis is kind of like Kinnikuman, and Kinnikuman is still one of the best leads in the game. Unlike Kinnikuman, Noctis is not restricted to Fire combos, which makes a big difference. Having to match 4 orbs is a bit difficult but it is doable, and the ATK multiplier is scaling, which not only means that you don't have to get 6 combos, but it also means that you can control your damage very well. If nothing else, at least GungHo gave NA better awakenings than JP. 0 I'm mainly thinking that because of the orb screw this game will sometimes give you. My first pull was a Genbu years ago, and I can't tell you how many times I was screwed by the fact I was missing a single wood or dark orb for my combo. If you happen to have a lousy board, you could be done. Changers like Lightning or Ragnarok Dragon could help that, though. 0 By Ink#78562 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) rolled him on my 4th pull! I need to skill him up. Which stage is the best to farm up his skill ups? Right now, my team is: Noctis Satsuki Z8 Awoken Isis flex?? Noctis Flex could either be Mitsuhide(+297), A. Pandora(+297), or A. Hades. Which is the best option and are there any others? Thx. EDIT new team All cards +297 Noctis [Mitsuhide] Satsuki Satsuki Awoken Isis/ Gremory (if I can ever get her) Archangel Luci/Bleak night Pandora Noctis Don't have Gremory or Archangel Luci and don't have the balls do devolve my awoken panda... On the plus side, I can beat arena one. Last edited by Ink 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) 0 ap3rson#59448 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Cruel bleak night panda goes better with him in my opinion. Are you willing to downgrade? 0 I spent pys... No way in hell, not until I can consistently beat ultimate arena... 0 Telwyn#82038 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Farm the FFC3 ranking dungeon. Boss will drop his ring to skill him up (albeit unreliably...) 0 By Cornykova#60567 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Knowing the damage Sephiroth can do with his 81x and TPA's, I'd love to see this guy running havoc in PAD. he offers everything Sephiroth has, without color or type restrictions, an additional boost in HP, an active skill that matches perfectly with his LS, and the only downfall is that you can only match tpa's or more... Still OP in my opinion, especially with that HP boost, making him tankier then AA Lucifer and Pandora ... 0 Vermillion#13284 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) I'd say he's balance rather than OP because of the 6 combos requirement to hit full multiplier. 0 After playing Noctis for a few weeks with his initial LS... I can tell you that you don't need to hit his full multiplier to wreck stuff 0 By Jun#79921 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Just curious, can these "combo skills" stack? Like for example, if I activate both noctis skills will it be +2 combo or just + 1? 1 Gameboy_07#94598 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) If it works the same way Khepri does, then it is just +1. Most active skill buffs (such as shields, skyfall buffs, or counter-attacks) do not stack, they simply override each other. For example, if I use an Indra active to get 3 turns of 75% shield, and then I use Awoken Isis active for 15% shield, I don't get a 90% shield, I just get the 15% and the 75% disappears, despite still having 3 turns. 0 By paul#87075 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) You know, combined with a leader like Tifa, you could activate both leader skills pretty easily. Making all boards 7x6 makes his max leader skill possible any time you used a skill. Not a bad multiplayer leader in that case. 0 By Brak#56062 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) What's up with the blank awakenings in the "JP Version"? Don't tell me the FIRST card to have that x2 ATK for 7+ combo awakening (wtf's gonna be the cool acronym/nickname for that) is gonna have TWO of them... 0 Megan#90939 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) I think he got some awakenings in the US version that he didn't in Japan, meaning we've actually got a card that is stronger here than in JP for the first time. 0 By Slayton#95619 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) It's hilarious doing a team challenge with 6 noctis. You have allllll day to set up the board because of all those time extends. Plus Noctis is a great sub for Noctis so he's one of the better team challenge leaders. 0 By Traciel#82079 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Hiya! I don't normally post but after diving into the ff ranking dungeon pretty aggressively, I'm really interested in this LS. My favorite board setup is (4-matches numbered by order I do them in) [4][4][4][4][3][2] [5][5][5][5][3][2] [6][6][6][6][3][2] [7][7][7][7][3][2] [X][X][1][1][1][1] (Or any vertical or mirror flip of that) But I wonder if that's optimal? Maybe with a little more latent time I'd try things a little different... anyone run something unlike this? 1 I'm running him now in a full dark team. I've covered all the bases, bind clears, orb changers, SBR, and a grand total of 14 fingers, for 7 seconds + 4 + 1 from the badge gives me 12 seconds. What's weird is I rarely have to use any orb changes, because you just need 4-8 black orbs and anything else will do, but they are there if you need them: Noctis Awoken Tsukyomi Dark Kali Cruel Bleak Night Goddess, Pandora Awoken Haku (going to try D/B Okuninushi for the enhance soon) Noctis 14 fingers 8 TPA 10 SB 5 Enhance dark 6 SBR Bind clear on Kali Tsukyomi makes my move time a whopping 17 seconds for 3 turns, Dkali, haku, and Panda all refresh my obs, and noctis makes sure I have 4 black outside of the other 3, as well as adding that combo. All skills are up on turn 1 as well. 28.2K HP (63.4K with 2.25x) 13K Dark Damage 4K recovery (9K with 2.25x) I typically match 5-6 combos, going down the columns in order from left to right or right to left. 5 combos is so easy to get, and 6 isn't that hard, but can sometimes be a pain. 5 combos still wipes most things, as without using any actives I hit for around 2M per card with 1 TPA. 6 combos, and 2 TPAs can break 3.5M per card. 0 Tinny#60808 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) realistically you would have four to five combos w/o using skills. 0 By Kenny#93678 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) I like how he has the Devil Killer awakening. Matches up with his experience he had as a child with the Daemon and how he meets up with the beast again in the Brotherhood anime series. 0 By (づo.o)づHi#46714 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Okay okay, PAD got me into buying ffxv, and ffxv had me watch kingsglaive. I'm not regretting; all are worthwhile, even during final week (nope). 0 By Kalator#7340 4 years ago ( 9.5.1 ) I wasn't lucky enough to get him even with ~60 rolls on his increase rates days, but I have been using friend leads with my Superman team. His light Sub Att and Attacker type make him a perfect fit. Obviously not as good as two Noctis leads, but it works. -1 By dad#95986 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) Just pulled this guy. LS is confusing to me though. Does that mean every match has to be 4+ orbs? What kind of team then? Rainbow 2 prong? 0 What you do is a mono dark team, with all types present as subtypes. 0 I did rainbow with Sheet Super Ultimate Awoken Visnu R/B Rozuel Satsuki It was pretty good BUT..... I tweaked the team and this was/is better overall I think D/R Halloween Rozuel D/B Pandora D/G Persephone Satsuki Last edited by dad 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) -1 abohk#92393 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) nah you wanna go mono dark tpa and have someone with a bind clear to be safe and his ls is he can only match 4+orbs to make a combo Last edited by abohk 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) -1 Then wouldn't it make sense to use rainbow? That way you could also hit with any other 4+ orb combos? IMO mono dark seems like it would limit damage potential a lot, because if I'm interpreting what you said correctly every match you have to make 4+ orbs why not use those matches to get the multiplier? -1 By Mr-ex777#91897 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) His artwork is blue and purple. does this means that he is intended to be Darkness and Water at first and not Darkness and Light? Last edited by Mr-ex777 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) -1 By ★Liao24★#35140 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) This emo boy is unreliable as a lead, I'm stick with leads without that combo penalty. Last edited by ★Liao24★ 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) 2 Megan#90939 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) He's the most rewarding to highly skilled players who can match like their lives depend on it. I used to think he was really impossible to use, but I tried him out with the challenge, and while I'm not nearly good enough to set him off consistently, it wasn't nearly as impossible as I thought. What makes him worth it is the ability to boost any card's attack and coming with a beefy 2.25x in both HP and RCV, granting him great durability that many other combo-based leaders can't claim. Even more interesting, his restriction naturally gears him towards a TPA playstyle, and Gung Ho helpfully gave him two TPA awakenings of his own. Stick him with other TPA-heavy subs and inherit some full board changers to fix bad layouts, and with the right skills, he's among the strongest, most flexible leaders in the entire game. 0 Ink#78562 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) I use him to farm Myr, he's my most reliable lead. Getting past combo shields are a cinch, his active does work for him. -2 By Windurst#44156 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) I'll pull one of these 2-3 FF collabs down the road when he's not worth having. -13 By Alpha@PAD#95860 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) This post has been flagged as spam Show 4 Justin#47592 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) You multiplied the 3 combo multiplier (3x) for both leads with the the 6 combo multiplier (6x) from both leads with the 1.5x multiplier from one. First of all, the 1.5x is from both leads. Secondly, the 6x overwrites the 3x because it says "up to." It would be completely broken to get one multiplier for 3 combos and then a separate multiplier for 6 combos, which already inherently includes the 3 combos. That would be getting two multipliers for the work of only one. It's actually 6x6x1.5x1.5 which is 81x. Clearly nothing to sneeze at, but not as crazy. 3 Mr-ex777#91897 5 years ago ( 9.2.1 ) It's just 81x. And 486x is not that broken considering we have Himura Kenshin and UmiYama/Fernir. |

I use him as a lead still on dark skyfall teams with subs like revo Persephone and Z8. He also cleared A3 before his recent buff.
